Greetings Reuse Fans,
As we have mentioned, 2019 was a strong year for CJ, particularly our deconstruction department! We had a successful training component with the South Hilltop Men’s Group and did some jobs that benefited nonprofits, such as our barn deconstruction for the Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens.
We are off to another strong start in 2020, as our crew has been busy for the entire month of January. This is a great sign as historically this can be a slow month for us. Of course, we want to keep the momentum going, so I am reminding all of our blog readers to keep forwarding and referring potential salvage and deconstruction jobs to us. We are scheduled to do a full deconstruction job for Grow Pittsburgh this spring – more on that as it develops!
We also continue to look for full deconstruction jobs from private property owners. These jobs, unlike the work we do for nonprofits, give us the opportunity to connect the property owner with the option of a tax deduction for donating your deconstructed materials. Full deconstruction jobs are fee for service jobs that help CJ support our job training activities. The potential tax deduction helps offset the costs of taking a building apart, which has to be done mostly by hand, to maximize reuse.
For any size deconstruction jobs, please email our deconstruction department via Terry Wiles at deconstruction@cjreuse.org or fill out our online application form to schedule a free consultation and walk-through of your project to determine if we are the right fit for your needs.
Thank you for supporting reuse and the jobs it creates!
