Tiles For Miles

Tiles For Miles

February 23, 2018 /Posted byConstruction Junction / 469

Greetings Reuse Fans,

I can see for tiles and tiles! You guessed it, CJ has been getting a lot of tile. So if you have a tile project that you need to tackle, we recommend you stop by and check out our current tile section as we add new inventory. The variety and large, frequently changing stock that we receive makes this a department that must be browsed in the store. We have been improving the way we list tile inventory on our online Featured Items page. Remember, we also have some of the extra things you will need for your tile project including grout and floats to apply your grout—check out all kinds of DIY supplies near to the register! Ask an associate if you don’t see it!

The reason we’re able to sell such a range of tile is that we have some great donors in the tile and flooring industry. Tile donations are often in loose bundles or broken cartons, and our colleagues in our Goodwill job skills training program are kept busy counting, matching and banding the tile together so it’s more “shopable” for you. In the process, the trainees learn to use a banding machine, to label tile bundles, and the retail skills involved in creating a great experience for shoppers in tile section.

Selling used materials is challenging, and tile is no exception. We are looking for suggestions from you, our intrepid reuse shoppers, as to how to make this section easier for you to use. What information do you need to help make your purchase? We will pass it along to our Goodwill colleagues to help them learn important merchandising skills! Send your ideas to communityoutreach@cjreuse.org

Reuse projects are a little extra work but they are worth it – just ask one of our Goodwill trainees!
