At CJ, we are always looking for ways to promote local craftspeople and artists, as well as reuse. This weekend, CJ is launching a pop-up shop (best described as a small store within our larger store), that will feature local artists who do inspired work with reused materials. Having relocated our customer service desk to the registers area, we wanted to reuse the space that formerly housed it!
We are delighted to welcome Elli Groninger to the Re:Make Pop-Up Shop this weekend, July 21-23, where she will feature her whimsical handmade Crash & Burn Metal creations for sale! Elli accidentally stumbled into metalworking art some years ago, having combined her knowledge of welding with her experience as a toy designer in Los Angeles. Her 3-D sculptures and ornaments are all crafted of metal recycled from cars, appliances and filing cabinets. Elli, we have a lot of filing cabinets you might want to check out!
The Re:Make Pop-Up Shop will be open every weekend and we are actively recruiting artists and craftspeople who incorporate reuse/recycling into their work, and want to feature their handiwork. If you are interested in being featured for a weekend in the Re:Make Pop-Up Shop, please contact Terry or Missy for more details.
We are excited to feature Elli’s work, and when you visit CJ this weekend and see it we think you’ll agree! And while you’re here, don’t forget to check out the giant raccoon on the side of the building.
I’ll say it again this week, Reuse is really fun!
