Greeting Reuse Fans!
This is an urgent call for donations of non-motorized wheel chairs and for volunteers!
This weekend our partners and friends at Global Links are conducting a “gently used” wheel chair donation drive for victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. You can drop off donations of wheelchairs at Global Links, Construction Junction and the Humble Barber in Brighton Heights.
Donated wheel chairs will be shipped out to Georgia on Monday where they will be sent via a US Airforce plane to San Juan. Global Links is coordinating this donation drive with FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children) in Georgia, which received the request for wheelchairs from the Puerto Rico Assistive Technology Program
Volunteers are also needed to help Global Links clean and prep wheelchairs for shipment at their facility in Greentree on Saturday. Email Stacy for details on volunteering.
And just in case you didn’t know, CJ is a drop off site year round for these items for Global Links.
A little closer to home, CJ is grateful to the Disability Options Network, who have donated a refurbished motorized wheel chair to our long time employee Joe Lamar, after our GM, Missy Mongelli, reached out to them. Joe will now be able to be out on the retail floor answering more questions from customers.
If you have an old wheel chair that’s only supporting dust… please put it back to work. And please share the weekend wheelchair drive with all your friends. Wheel chairs can change people’s lives!
