Help others learn basic wiring skills
Greetings Reuse Fans,
Reuse in Pittsburgh enriches our community in a variety of ways, including our partnership with an onsite Goodwill training program for those with barriers to employment. Already, a dedicated crew of Goodwill clients with barriers to employment process nearly every door, and all our tile. In addition to hands on skills training, Goodwill clients also learn retail and customer service skills to broaden their marketable skills. Some of the trainees move on from our training program, and for others it is a good long term fit to remain at CJ.
We are looking to expand the skills training provided through this program to include very basic wiring. As a means to begin implementing this expansion, we would like to put out a call to any electrician who would like to donate their time to advise on setting up this training opportunity, and who would be available to work with trainees as we slowly implement this project. There is flexibility in the scheduling of the project.
We’re interested in hearing from anyone who’s interested in volunteering! Please contact Mike Gable by phone (412-841-2343) or email.
When you shop, donate, sponsor or attend the Big Pour you are supporting our community in many ways: through our partnership with Goodwill, by providing local jobs, and by keeping usable stuff out of the landfill.
Reuse is just cool, so thanks for doing it!
