Greetings Reuse Fans,
We have some bittersweet news to report today. Yesterday was the last day of employment here at CJ for our long time Donations & Logistics Manager, Ben Lloyd. Ben was first hired way back in 2008 as a truck driver. It wasn’t long before his talents led him to managing the full pick up service department. During Ben’s tenure, he managed tens of thousands of donation inquiries. Since December 2011 when CJ started keeping very detailed records of our donation pick-ups, the donations pick up department has recorded 3500+ donation receipts and generated over 385,000 inventory items of Construction Junction! That’s close to $4 million dollars of value to support CJ operations and programs. If you called or emailed CJ about a potential donation in the last 5 to 6 years, Ben has been the man with the plan to secure your donation and keep this reuse machine rolling along. To say that Ben has a passion for reuse would be an understatement. He remains deeply committed to the mission of conservation and sustainability, both in his professional life and as an avid kayaker and mountain biker. He is also an energetic person with a great sense of humor and a boisterous laugh. Our back office area will be significantly more tranquil in his absence, perhaps a bit too tranquil, and I will miss the times I thought “this guy is having too much fun at work”. Ben also has a keen sense of adventure which he is pursuing as he moves on to the next chapter and heads to the Pacific Northweast. I have no doubt he will take full advantage of the ample hiking, biking and kayaking opportunities awaiting him. Thanks for your years of service, Ben. I know for certain that more reuse and outdoor adventures await you! Hey, let’s all be more like Ben!
