It’s Big Pour Week!
Greetings Reuse Fans,
We are one week out from the Steel City Big Pour. We understand that many of CJ’s year-round supporters are not inclined to attend the event and we appreciate your patience with the disruption this event causes once a year.
It is a monumental effort for our staff to prepare, but the event is critical for us to close the gaps in our operating budget and provides support for our community and employment partnership programs. If you bought a door or a bundle of tile since 2013, you were the beneficiary of the handiwork of our on-site Goodwill program that provides employment opportunities for people with barriers to employment!
Store announcements
Specifically because of Big Pour preparations and clean-up:
- You must pick up any purchased items you have in storage by end of day today, September 1st!
- The store, lot, recycling drop-off and all recycling services will close at 2:00 pm on Friday the 8th and will reopen at 9:00 am on Monday September the 11th.

We have extended the deadline for the Reuse Inspiration contest until Monday, September 4th at 5:00pm, so please get your entries submitted to mgable@cjreuse.org and kkirkland@post-gazette.com.

So, thanks for your patience during the next week and we also appreciate your support during the month of August, which was a great month in the store and for donations! We are packing the store with great stuff for the Labor Day weekend, so bring your out of town guests.
