Greetings Reuse Fans,
A huge thanks to all the reuse fans who came out for the warehouse sale last Sunday. It was a tremendous success. We hope we made lots of reusers very happy, and we are pleased to report the highest number of reuse purchases the organization has ever recorded in a single day (332 in case you are wondering). We saw lots of new faces that we hope will become advocates and supporters of our mission to keep usable materials from the landfill.

We also appreciate the support from volunteers who helped with the sale – we couldn’t have done it without you! We want to give a special call out to young people from Auberle, who work in the organization’s landscaping job training program. We were also really happy to meet three volunteers who found us through our Facebook volunteer request, and to have two CJ Board members pitching in to lend a hand. Stayed tuned for future sales, promotions and special events, as we continue to work on new ways to bring reuse to retail, keeping materials out of the landfill and into the hands of buyers like you!
The timing of this warehouse sale was no coincidence. With less than a month left, we needed help to get ready to clear out the entire warehouse area for our Steel City Big Pour annual fundraiser. The Big Pour raises enough to cover the portion of our operating costs that aren’t covered by the revenue from sales in the store. One volunteer at the warehouse sale offered, unsolicited by us, to come in and help the Thursday/Friday before Big Pour to help us get the warehouse ready. She was stunned at the amount of material we manage to move to get ready for this event. We, of course, said “YES” we would love to have your help! Volunteering is a great way to help us.

If you can’t commit the time to volunteer, and love a good time with craft beer, food, music and live art, then you can still help us – tickets are on sale for the Big Pour here – and we’d love to see you on SeptemBEER 15th!
