Wondering how to get rid of old stuff without sending it to a landfill? Construction Junction makes recycling easy! From metals to appliances, we give your items a second life, helping you to reduce waste and support Pittsburgh’s sustainability efforts.
Construction Junction is Pittsburgh’s nonprofit champion for conservation. Through reclaiming and selling used building materials, we reduce waste, support sustainable building practices, and provide affordable options—bringing environmental and social value to our community.
Please do not go directly to the metal scrap dumpster with your items without speaking with a CJ employee at the receiving docks!
We do not pay for scrap metal. Steel, iron, brass, copper, and aluminum brought to Construction Junction is sent to a scrap metal processor.
If you have any old metal cabinets, hardware, non-working metal appliances, short pieces of steel studs, etc., bring them to Construction Junction and help us reduce our disposal costs and promote recycling. Please reverse your vehicle to the “Donate Here” doors to make your scrap metal donation.
We reserve the right refuse any material that does not meet our acceptance policies.
Recycling services are available during our regular business hours.
Join us in making a real difference—every item recycled counts toward a healthier planet and a stronger community!
For information regarding the City of Pittsburgh recycling area located here in the upper lot, please visit the city site.
Construction Junction does not operate this recycling drop off and can’t provide any detail regarding what is accepted there. The recycling area is only accessible during regular CJ hours of operations. Our lot is gated and locked during off hours.
