Construction Junction is Pittsburgh’s nonprofit champion for conservation. Through reclaiming and selling used building materials, we reduce waste, support sustainable building practices, and provide affordable options—bringing environmental and social value to our community.
There are recycling fees for acceptance of all individual light bulbs, ballasts, and alkaline batteries. No broken or coated bulbs, no leaking ballasts, and no rechargeable batteries of any kind.
When you bring any items for recycling, you must come into the store to pay the fee at the front register first. Bring smaller items that can be accepted at the register with you. With larger items or quantities, after you are provided your fee receipt, you will be asked to reverse your vehicle to the “Donate Here” doors to drop your item(s) off. Donation receiving staff will ask to see your receipt before handling any recycling items.
Recycling services are available during our regular business hours.
Fee: $1 per bulb
Fluorescent tubes 8 feet long or less, “U” or circle lamps, incandescent light bulbs (includes halogen bulbs), high Intensity Discharge bulbs, including high pressure sodium and mercury halide and mercury vapor CFL bulbs.
