We’re thrilled to announce that The Cee Jay Awards—an awards extravaganza recognizing exceptional reuse projects across multiple categories—is back for its second season! Like the Oscars, our event will spotlight not only the projects themselves, but also the “behind-the-scenes” heroes who make the magic of reuse happen.

This year’s awards statue, the iconic “Big Pour Bird”—rebranded as “The Cee Jay”—pays affectionate homage to our popular former event that helped build generous financial support and community goodwill for CJ.

Mark your calendars for October 24, 2025, when we’ll gather at the historic New Hazlett Theater on Pittsburgh’s North Side. Built in 1889 as the first Carnegie Music Hall (and dedicated by President Benjamin Harrison), the Hazlett’s stunning Richardson Romanesque architecture and deep community roots make it the perfect venue to celebrate our shared commitment to reuse.

The evening will begin with a “thrift carpet” entrance, where guests are encouraged to show off their best reuse fashion. The Awards Show will kick off the festivities, followed by time to network, meet the winners, bid on fabulous prizes, and enjoy drinks, appetizers, and engaging salvage art displays. It’s a night to celebrate creativity, sustainability, and community impact.
