What Do You Know About Ultra High Performance Concrete?
Greetings Reuse Fans,
We have a “new” surplus product in the store that we are very excited about! It is an Architectural Ultra High Performance Concrete panel, or simply UHPC, and we have a limited supply in the store right. We are working to receive more on a regular basis!
So what is UHPC? It is a very popular cladding material used in new commercial construction. Essentially, a home owner or small scale contractor can use it in the same applications as marble or granite. The product is thinner, denser and easier to work with. It is 4 times stronger than precast concrete. We will be getting materials of different sizes, patterns, finishes, and colors. This is going to be surplus pieces, so the selection will be in various quantities. We will be cutting the pieces into manageable sizes in order to make it easier for our customers to transport than a heavy 4’ x 10” panel.
Installation tips: exterior application uses face fasteners (some panels come pre-drilled) and are usually connected to a metal sub-frame. For interior application, thin-set or mortar can be used to apply to finished surfaces. It can be used as a floor tile with some extra attention given to leveling!
The panels (of any size) should never be applied with adhesive/thin-set directly to a brick or block wall.

CJ will have some additional information about handling and cutting of the product available at the store. We will also be holding a class (in the next month) to introduce people to all the cool stuff you can do with this product.

Note: We are working on the processing end to figure out the best, safest, and most convenient way to display and sell most of these panels.
