One thing that we are definitely used to here at Construction Junction is finding creative and unusual ways to reuse materials. It’s kinda our whole thing, you know? The nature of the reuse biz, and being donation based in particular, dictates that much of what we receive tends to lean toward items and styles that are not necessarily in vogue. Trends come and go, and usually when they go, they come here!
We’ve always had a bit of a rough time handling granite, quartz and other types of heavy stone materials. Whether picking up finished countertops from a kitchen remodel job or surplus slabs from suppliers and retailer, big a**, heavy, and awkward things are always a challenge. Now it seems we have a new challenge to add.
Have you noticed that these kinds of countertops are a bit on the outs when it comes to current popular kitchen designs? It’s a trend we’ve certainly noticed. However, just because something tends to be a fad, doesn’t mean that there isn’t inherent value in reusing it. You just have to get a little bit outside the box. Granite and other stone products are most definitely durable. The truth is that this material will long outlast it’s popularity. We’ve found so many great ways to use what is a pretty hearty reclaimed material for all kinds of neat ideas. Check out some of these DIY projects and feel free to share yours with us.
Oh, and did we mention that we have granite for sale, too?
