Greetings Reuse Fans!
Some weeks, I just don’t have the creative “reuse” juices flowing for a blog story, so today I am giving you a window into some activities of the past week and what’s coming up for CJ!
So next Saturday, Missy and I will be doing an interview on KDKA Radio’s “Handy Andy” True Value Home Improvement Hour on Saturday April 6th from 10 – 11 am on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA. We will be sharing information about Earth Month programing and other highlights of CJ’s 20 years of operations. Tune in!
This week I have been visiting the finalists in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette’s annual renovation contest with Kevin Kirkland and Gretchen McKay (more visits next week). I am excited to be a judge in the contest. CJ and the PG will be working together again in August for the Reuse Inspiration contest. Stay tuned for an announcement of the winners in the current contest.
Our Deconstruction crew has been going gangbusters with some large jobs! And more in the pipeline. On our current project (a 7,000 square foot house!) we are working with a new job training partner, the South Hilltop Men’s Group! Check out their Facebook page. I will do a larger blog on this partnership when the project wraps up!
I am working with the Building Material Reuse Association on their annual Deconstruction and Reuse Conference that is coming to Pittsburgh on October 28, 29, 30th at Phipps. We working to bring some speakers from the European Union to talk about how the EU is promoting reuse of building material and design for deconstruction.
And that is just a fraction of the stuff that went on last week!
Thanks for supporting reuse!
