Greetings Reuse Fans,
CJ has had many employees over the last 18+ years, working to promote reuse at CJ. Yesterday, we wished one of our longest serving employees, Bruce Brinker, a fond farewell. Bruce has been our Retail Manager for the last five years, and has worked at CJ since the early 2000’s!
Bruce was what I refer to as a boomerang employee. He started out in an entry level position and then left to the west coast. He came back to Pittsburgh and we hired him back! He left and came back again. Three times we hired Bruce and we determined that he has done more “positions at CJ” than any other employee, including time on the truck picking up donations. He has been integral to CJ’s success!
I will miss Bruce’s dedication to our mission and his unique sense of humor. One of the quotes about Bruce that always made me laugh, an unknown employee wrote in the employee only area of our loading dock, “Bruce will take dirt.” That quote matched Bruce’s sense of humor but also revealed his commitment to take materials that perhaps other would not!
