Greetings reuse lovers,
So we all know that COVID has affected a lot of our small businesses in our area, including Construction Junction. 2020 has proven to be so unpredictable that all of us have had to pivot, duck, dive and think outside the box to adjust to the many changes. Our beloved Steel City Big Pour fundraiser of course had to be canceled and we had to come up with some way to raise funds to help continue CJ’s mission and job training partnerships. We are currently running raffles of gift baskets, selling T-shirts, taster glasses and more. We have lovingly named this event “The Lil’ Pour“! Construction Junction has had amazing donations thus far from past Big Pour vendors and sponsors, CJ board members, and customers. We are still looking for donations of gift baskets and raffle items to continue raising funds well into 2021. Please contact me via email if you are interested in making a raffle donation at mmongelli@cjreuse.org.
As a member of our Pittsburgh community of reuse supporters, we appreciate all of your donations and purchases that keep us going. Don’t forget to round up your total at the register or consider making a financial donation. Every little bit helps and is much appreciated!
You may have noticed some visitors in the store near the front entrance or in the parking lot. As a way to help local restaurants and small businesses CJ has opened their doors a little wider this year. Our pop-up shop space is being filled every weekend until the end of the year with local crafters and artist selling their goods. Many annual craft shows have been cancelled due to COVID and people were looking for ways to connect with the public. Please check our events calendar to see who will be here every weekend. Get some holiday shopping done, support local businesses and pick up some reuse building materials for your home projects, all in one stop! How about them apples? I would highly suggest stopping down this weekend because we have double the visitors! Not only do we have Hilltop Galleries in the store all weekend selling their amazing creations, we also will have a Sprezzatura Grab ‘N’ Go food pop-up in the lot on Saturday. They are one of our favorite Big Pour foodies and will be cooking up some amazing grub in the upper parking lot! If you have never had Sprezzatura’s food, run – don’t walk – to CJ to grab something to make your belly happy and support yet another local business!
We rent our pop-up shop space year round and if you are interested in being a vendor here, please reach out to me, I would be happy talk to you about this very affordable opportunity!
Thank you for supporting us for over 20 years! We fought hard to come back after lockdown and really appreciate your support, donations, kind words and most of all your patience through this trying time!
Much love!
