Greetings Reuse Fans,
We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far! We held our holiday staff breakfast on Tuesday – thanks to our loyal customers who altered their shopping plans to arrive a little later at the store…at least It may have gotten a bit warmer during that hour!
This last week, we facilitated a purchase of commercial kitchen items (including an awesome Proofer oven) with a great new project called The Bakery Society Pittsburgh. This is a bakery incubator being launched by Economic Development South with funding from the Hillman Foundation (who have also supported CJ’s development of Reuse Retail).
Located in Mt. Oliver, the project is to offer space for aspiring bakers to incubate and launch their businesses. It aspires to offer more than space, with training in culinary skills, financial management, and marketing support. Their core training program is 18 months, but bakers can also get involved by simply renting the space and either use the project’s store front or “bake and take” their creations to another location.
We are keeping an eye out for commercial kitchen and bakery equipment. If you have items you are interested in donating, give us a call or fill out an online donation form to find out if we can work with you. Reuse can help make “start ups” more affordable!
